NSF Funded Student Travel Grant

The National Science Foundation provides funding to support the attendance of the conference of students. Students must be:

  • An undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled at a U.S. university, regardless of citizenship or visa status;
  • Not a postdoc.

Application Deadline: Jan. 20, 2025 AoE.

Selection of the grants will be based on need and the degree of participation. Presenters of papers or posters will have priority. Since the total grant is a fixed amount, the amount that can be awarded to each student will depend on the number of awardees and will cover only a portion of your expenses. Reimbursable expenses include conference registration, airfare, ground transportation, and lodging only.

Furthermore, part of the PPoPP travel grants will be reserved for undergraduate students, women, and students from other under-represented groups.

After the conclusion of the symposia, each awarded student must complete and return appropriate travel reimbursement forms and include original receipts. This form will be provided later to you.

If chosen, awardees may be asked to perform tasks to ensure conference participation, such as scribing talks and writing a summary of their conference experience. These will be compiled into reports to be submitted to NSF.
